A Cowboy Is - Contest
A cowboy is a rarity and his title, "Pure Man"
He's always saying, "Well sure, Sure I can"!
His woman though fragile, her mindset is strong,
Until he says, "NO," then she smiles and moves on.
His first priority is giving reverence today,
As he strokes his stallions mane, bowing to pray,
The cowboy is sure that his life does depend,
On the mount he is on, as his very best friend.
The problems arise across the acres so dense,
When he sites a calf bailed in a barb wire fence,
The herd has to wait, silence holds his breath,
One slip of his cutter could mean sudden death.
With success now achieved and the pup on his way,
the lunch bell is clanging on this very short day,
Nothing accomplished to make him feel grand,
but the voice in his ear, "You're one helluva man"!
