A Courageous Poet

Oh, I admire so, any poet who is willing to be real.
This is my personal, on-going, endless longing!
A poet-soul unafraid to swim against the current!
To stop hiding behind a costume of image-filled words.
And fly in the face of popularity!
A poet who is an eagle that soars, fearlessly.
Rising high, high above the poet crowd and realizes,
A poet's heart is human and needs ever so much more!

Gee~ I was not talking about you.)))) I Do love costumes. Having been a ballet dancer, been on stage as an actress, later.,a belly dancer. Words and images are not us. They are just representation of us. I love real people. Poets like ee cummings. There is a reality to his poetry. No masquerade. It's a moot point. I use imagery also. But prefer to be true to who I am. Retired from theatrics, lights and images, Pangie xx. Thank you,

Hi Again! I do forget my Poems as there are over one thousand. Thank you for bringing me back to what I dream to be as a poet...an eagle, not a mouse! Unafraid to build her own poetry house. Blessings to you and more. Panagiota

Hi, Richard! Well let's jump in! I love that kind of poetry. I forget I am an eagle at times and think I do better as a conformist slug! It doent work. I just wrote a poem telling on myself..it's easy to get off track at times.Panagiota

Hi Panagiota...Congrats on the POTD. Well deserved-well written and honest as usual. I think if you write to gain acceptance, then you have failed..you do not fall into that category, Best wishes, Anthony

Anthony! You and I are on the same page. I have commented to you many times because I see honesty in your Poetry. Puff poetry is not you. You always tell it like it is. Acceptance is a room full of insincere backslappers.I promise, not one of them would ever comment to my poetry. And that's a good thing. It's a sign I am a poet not a puppet. Love you, Panagiota xx

G'day Panagiota … a poets work never dies like the headlines on a newspaper. Poetry has preserved so much history and many poems of long ago are still recited today, and we need reminding that these are written from the minds of men and women who witnessed repression - thanks Panagiota - Lindsay

So very true. Also~ the beauty and joy of living. Our world is full of negative. Too bad. Was Shakespeare oppressed? ee Cummings? Worsworth? Whitman? Let me know who was repressed. Please? Thank you...Panagiota. In the USA and worldwide, there are words we can no longer say. That scares me..,,Panagiota. Thank you for your deep thoughts.

Panagiota, I don’t even post ten poems a month, never mind ten poems a day.. I like to take my time and linger over each piece. I believe in editing and rewriting, so for me each poem is a true labor of love that takes time to finish. I’m not a prolific poet, that’s for sure. Sometimes I do wish that my creative process worked faster but I’ve come to accept my methodology:))

Thanking you from the bottom of my poetic heart! It's a joy to write a poem that I like. Not just write to rack up numbers by the shortest poems possible. What win in there in that? The worst part is people don't read them and honestly, I can't write 10 quality poems a day. If I can, I will. But time is short and quality counts. You and others, Susan have brought out the best in me. Amazing, the talent at SP! It is an honor and more humbling than ego inflating. Egos burst like bubbles. Love for others? Everlasting. Bless you... Panagiota xxxx

My Dearest Ann, what a moving comment, you have me in tears. I hope you enjoyed your holiday, Ann. Really, that's all I want to be as a poet and a human. Honest and passionate, everything else is hogwash. And a support to my fellow poets. But have stopped endless Comnenting to non responders. Thank you for being a blessing, Panagiota xxx

I am so happy too have found this wonderful poem. As it delivers truth in poetic verse and admonishes poets to be true to poetry. Seems so easy to go with the modern flow but that flow has ran off course. One should reappraise why the golden poets of old are called golden. A fav-- this sings to this old poet's ears and shines bright in ever seeking eyes.

I do try to encourage others.but realize the price for that is not getting comments. You will doubtless be the only one. And that's perfectly OK. I know another poet far better than I. I mean more than 10, who get no or few comments, I fall in that group, I don't write to please others.Nor do they. I speak the truth as I see it. I hope you soar!Panagiota ~~~
