A Content Man
Wandering o'er the mountain tops
The world beneath my feet,
Not a noise, no breath of wind,
There are days when life is sweet.
To rest by a cascading stream
And let a while pass by,
Listening to the water flow,
A content man am I.
The echoing of jousting crows
Interrupts my somnolence,
But to awaken to such beauty,
Is delightful recompense.
A place to soothe a weary soul,
True solitude is here.
The silence of the mountains,
Is music, to my ears.
