A Conclusion - Journal Xi

A CONCLUSION -
JOURNAL XI

It’s a Walt Disney,
Looney Tunes world
Why? Because I
cannot identify with
it
      in my waking
hours
Contradiction is
rife
The love-hate
mishmash is widely
popular
Those of our younger
populace seem to
identify
The movies, the
songs, the
unpredictable
      behavior are
testimony
The world is, from
sea to sea, a
religious and
      political
ritual of violence,
noise, hunger and
      turmoil
There has been no
period of world
peace such as
      happened after
World War I
Witness such
immature nonsense as
the mining-
      up of comic
book characters,
Big as the latest
gigantic movie
screens
Some things, like
Archie, deserve to
die or, at
      least fade
from memory
What happened to
absolute music, that
needing
      no words of
explanation, that
requiring an
      artistic use
of imagination?
In these last few I
would explore the
inner for
      mental
balance, escape Bugs
Bunny
