A Christmas Tale
Tinsel and garland with colorful bulbs twinkling
Toy’s wrapped with red and gold bows sparkling
The sent and the smells of Turkey dinner Lingering
Children playing in the snow with finger tips tingling
Twas the night before, now the day after it was Christmas Eve
All snug in their beds with toy’s running through their heads
On prancer and dancer they believed hearing rumbling overhead
Mother and Father were in bed and both wanted to sneak a peek
Looking around the corner peeking at the tree what did they see
Nothing but a glow of twinkling red star dust going up the chimney
Half eaten carrot the milk glass empty all the cookies were missing
The stockings were filled with the fire flicking with tiny minds wishing
Excitement overwhelming looking out the window and watching
Oh look one said, red star dust looming overhead then falling
Both in disbelief at what they saw 12 tiny reindeer and Santa Clause
All presents have been opened it is Christmas morning
One gift left unopened with curiosity building all wanted to see
A tag was written upon the top that read, this gift I give freely
A book was opened so all could see it turned to John 3:16
On this day he was born to save the world,
Remember Him on this Christmas Day we celebrate
This gift given to all
