NOTE:  I actually had all three of these events happen to me between the ages of 5 and 8. I almost believed that they actually happened, but I don't think anyone else did (for sure, the parade was a crazy hallucination after waking from a dream). Also, there is a fourth tall tale of mine: I was chased by a blue racer snake on the ball field by the woods! My sisters can attest to that one~

When I woke, Mom, I saw a parade right before me! I wish it had stayed. There were drummers and clowns, lots of colors and sounds, but in minutes, it started to fade! Oh my! I just saw a big bear. He was out in the woods, I swear. He was so big and black. Mom, I’m not going back not EVEN on a double dare! A toucan was just on the phone wire. I saw it take off, flying higher than our parakeet! Mom, isn’t that neat? So why does Dad call me a liar? Written May 8, 2016 For the Tall Tales In Short Form Poetry Contest of Casarah Nance

What a colorful tall tale, Andrea ... the toucan on a phone-wire was also cute (I don't think I've ever seen one of those in person before ... not even in a zoo) ... have you ever read the poet, Shel Silverstein? He's my favorite for children's poetry ... you ought to check him out someday :)

I remember you telling Mom of these awesome sites and wondering why I didn't see them too. Great limericks to capture those moments in time.

did you believe me at least? I mean one of them might really have been true. I always thought the tucan escaped from a zoo perhaps. And were you part of the blue racer story? I could have sworn it was me, you and Melanie all running from it??

Some good tales Andrea. Ive been in that dream reality state before. I even have premonition dreams from time to time. It's eerie because when the reality happens it is like deja vu.

It's true that sometimes what seems real to a kid seems impossible to an adult. Especially since sometimes we don't see things the same way the child does. The tale of the bear and the snake don't seem too far fetched to me because I grew up in the swamp lands of Florida and I raised my kids in the Northwest Territories of Canada. This is too cute. Loved it. God Bless, JB
