A Child's Opinion
.
The comment of a girl
younger than four
is truer than a Delphic
oracle.
To try to change it
in your favor requires
no less than a medieval
miracle.
For hers is the most honest
opinion
of a trustworthy mirror
on the wall.
Although you befriend her
with choco bars,
barbi dolls, and a pink
marshmallow ball,
she sticks to her verdict
with finality
and points at your wrinkles,
warts and all !
