A Brother's Love
When Mommy got pregnant, that’s when my life began,
And I was hoping not to be an only child.
“I better have a brother,” I thought, “I’m a big fan,
Because then he could show me how to be really wild.”
When Mommy went into labor, I got kind of scared
And I wasn’t sure if I was ready for a new world.
Even after nine months, I wasn’t at all prepared
To see you standing there, my sister…a girl!
Right away, all the attention then focused on me,
And I almost felt as if no one else mattered.
But when you took me home, I knew where I should be,
With my big sister, where my heart would never be shattered.
It’s been over a year and I didn’t forget
The promise that you whispered to me when I arrived.
I know you’ll be there no matter how bad things get
And I’ll be the best brother I can while I’m alive.
