A Barren Soul
he carried a barren and naked soul,
stoic and aloof inside a chimera tune-
oh, his dulcet melodies make me whole,
bring back my sanity,
lost inside profanity,
for this life has taken a toll.
a lion roars with gusty might,
capturing my essence with remorse-
so, sing to me a song that brings light,
whisper love’s hymn,
a verse soft and dim,
chant a lyric of rhyme and delight.
for your beauty resides in your harp,
a euphony of something to make me feel-
a ballad played in F-minor sharp,
a grand composition,
standing in a nude position,
bring an aria of songs devoid of carp.
an alligator’s leather is rough,
course and rugged with length-
just like my life has been so tough,
I need a melodic line,
something soft and fine,
of this madness, I’ve had enough.
for I am arched like a pink flamingo,
crooked and curved without direction-
sing me a song to make my heart grow,
a poem of grace,
no man can replace,
I find this shame so hard to let go.
when I hear your music of adoration,
I am free from all iron chains-
you bring me a healing sensation,
with songs of devotion,
filled with emotion...
...for I am captivated with appreciation.
