A Dancer With An Answer
A DANCER WITH AN ANSWER
I’ll always remember her grandeur, her grace and her style
And the way she’d turn my frown into a smile
I’ll always remember how she taught me to dance with ease
And I’ll always remember her, if you please
There will never be a day when she won’t enter my mind
I’ll still see her beauty were I ever to go blind
She was small in stature but stood so tall
And the lady, indeed, she had it all
She’d chase me in order to chastise me at times
And as I grew older she forgave even my crimes
For I was a rebel bent on being what I wanted to be
And if she were here now she’d say “you should have listened to me”
I’ll always recall the way she forgave and forgot
And gave me enough although we didn’t have a lot
I’ll forever envision her blowing out the candles on a cake
And now I hate those ever growing candles for her death’s sake
