~ Tis the Season ~

Tis the season, for"Love".... The time of giving and caring Peace on earth, and good will, to all of life! To lay aside the swords, the spears, the guns Embracing the hope of a tomorrow Clear, from the sediments of today.... These fundamental rudiments, of compassion and mercy Empathy, for everything that breathes and lives That all humankind, all creation, may walk unscathed By the pervasive shadows, that have lingered much too long! Casting their impiousness, about the face of this world Crossing paths, and building brick walls.... While countless souls suffer, within their empty draining hands Creatures causing plight, impaling the light of hope Stealing dreams, before they were born Crushing hearts, before they could even beat! As my gazing eyes glance, about this place I have known I have often dried tears.... For more than this, that I would wish to know? Lassoing the moon, to pull it down as a deliverer, from all of their pain The best answer that I could find, found, within this planet and this place Walking through endless mazes, peering, through these mirages That bleed out the words of cure, ironically, with no cure at all.... These grand illusions, instilled by leviathans repressive and overt thought!? While as the always present continuum, of suffering carries on Drenched amid waters, flowing from their eyes, mingled, within their own blood.... Thousands of years, and how far have we come I ponder, I consider, every moment that I breathe? As another priceless life, takes their final heartbeat, beaten, beneath tainted soiled dust! Aside from the fact, of what I have seen, known, with my very own eyes.... Am I so blind, to believe in all of these fairytales and lies? Wrapped in this mummies cloth, of satans perpetual guise.... No! Tis but the season to recognize, the birth of a Man, named "Jesus Christ" Who came to give His life~to wage this war, that humankind, could never hope to win! So, when I reflect upon all of them, and, I reflect upon 'the cure .... I contemplate the times, time, and forevers eternal door I wind this rope, and I take aim at the stars Thinking, "Merry Christmas," peace and good will, to all, and to all of life! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Tis The Season ~

John this is beautiful, such a wonderful message, you always have the most inspirational writes. What are you talking about? I'm not leaving, not going anywhere, ever. You have done nothing, where did you get that idea from. Again this was beautiful, your friend, ~Michaela~

Dear John, Yes! A time of giving and caring - peace and good will to all and to all of life! A very hard life lesson to learn. I keep trying!! The lesson that seems to be the hardest for me is , the power of words, and the weight they carry. For instance - the difference between the word surprised! and the word shocked! Sometimes I pick the incorrect one to express myself. Love to you and yours, Lainie

Your passion....that is the one thing I so admire in you, is that you spill forth with so much power and strength in your poems, it makes one truly pay attention to what you are saying, the voice of a great teacher. Your poems are some of the strongest, told with conviction poems on Poetry Soup..you have so much to share. Mostly, however, what means to most to me, are your kind and loving comments. I can never thank you enough for those many sweet words. Happy Holidays dear John! Love, Carrie

Hey again, John! Oh la...I think that sometimes I must be carrying in baggage , when I read poetry. I think the 'body and subject' of your verses are wonderful. Very enlightening, and they bring one to other levels of thought. I know that I will read this one tomorrow, and find things that I have missed today. This evening I was hit by your 'empathy' and unwavering goodness. Hugs and kisses to you, my friend..God bless you and yours! Mikki:)

Hey to you, John! Were it so, that one could throw a lasso into the heavens and pull down a star to brighten up those lives. You've a job that takes you into the darkest nights, but still, your compassionate heart has "often dried tears". I'm sure that in many ways, to many people, you must feel like this shining star. You're an amazing man, John Rhinem!:) Hope that your Christmas will be merry and that you will have the chance to enjoy this special day! God bless you and yours....love, Mikki
