My mom has Alzheimer's and even though she doesn't know me I still go to see her. I take her a cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin. Her favorite. My dad I call every two days. Then I go to see as often as I can. When I am visiting we do puzzles, watch movies, and read books. I love spending time with them. Great poem brings out happy memories with my mom and dad. I hope my eleven children will come to visit wherever I am.

Sad one. Sometimes the choice is theirs though. My parents wanted to go there. Dad lived 10 years and mom 12. They continued to go out and do things out of the home for a very long time before mom got so bad off. Thanks for the visit to my page. Sara

From the moment we are born soul sister we die a little day by day, for that day can never be retrieved! Life is short , we must be kind to the old, for we will get there one day - all too soon old age is upon us, our winter years. A lovely poem dear friend - Poetry hugs, Jennifer

You have taken on a challenge and surpassed it by writing of something many do not dare write about. It reminds me of my last visit with my father, and it makes me smile, Anne-Lise.

it's wonderful that you visit your dad regularly, anne-lise. i enjoyed your poem about it. it has to be lonely for the people in those homes who don't get visitors...

I know this writing is not a fiction but a wonderful human fact which makes the poem amazingly beautiful! You, my dearest Anne-Lise , are one of the few children that spend time with her father! God bless you! A fav for me! Good luck ! Hugsxxx
