The Keeper
She is the animal keeper of the lost, broken
homeless, forgotten, abused and dying.
Some might think she is quite odd, that she cares
so much.
But those who see her heal the broken, sick and
dying know she has a heart with such compassion.
The homes she places them in, brings so much joy
laughter, happiness and friendship for all.
The cats, dogs, ducks, birds that found their way to her
house find safety an love there.
Her animals asks nothing from her accept shelter, food
rest and safety.
The hands so gentle, kind and loving they ran from, their
fear and terror so deep from the abuse.
So many days she thinks she is finally done and now it's
time for some much needed rest for herself.
Knowing when she lays her head upon her pillow that she
has done all that could be done.
Restful sleep flows through out the house of the keeper.
Everyone safe, fed, warm and healing from the many wounds.
Days come and go when she feels she just can't possibly do
this one day longer, the tears flow, her sadness no longer hidden.
The kind loving, caring gentle heart is so full of pain she wants
to just say 'Please Father Send No More".
More come and she humbly obeys her Fathers request that she is
and always be His protector, His Keeper of the ones who need her.
Her energy renewed she once again puts one foot in front of the
other and never once regrets, complains about being chosen.
