Swords
Words in the wind
We can never rescind
Words of delight
Or dark words of plight
Words lift a heart
Or can rip one apart
Though years pass between
Words kind or quite mean
A capacity
Echo's joy / misery
Comforting thoughts, of kind words I've spoken
Joys peace they brought; friendships sweet token
Were those words of life and joy that were uttered.
But sometimes unkind and in anger, words sputtered
I remember them yet
Those words of regret
Cupid's sweet arrows or quick flashing swords
Straight to a heart, the use of our words
Apologies are a soothing kind balm,
To mend a friend, and help lend some calm
Sometimes this? Impossible.
Other times? Implausible.
Words in the wind
We can never rescind.
Of unkind words I've ever spent
I lift to God, and I repent.
Again, again, again, again
Praying God He heals the stain
From wounds of hurt, or hearts I've stung
By unkind words from off my tongue
11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
~ Proverbs 25:11-26 ~
KJV
For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: but the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
~James 3:7-8 ~
KJV
