I creep into the gaudy tent at the school summer fete ‘Cross my palm with silver’ cackles a familiar voice She chuckles as I put a melted chocolate coin in her hand Then ‘Mystic Maureen’ stares at her crystal ball and starts to speak in hushed tones ‘the woman of your dreams … has just entered your life’ she whispers Hey princess, I giggle, I know it’s you … I recognise that sparkler I put on your finger I’m so proud of my wife standing in last minute The psychic the school booked had cancelled … due to unforeseen circumstances! That last line tells us all we need to know about the absent psychic's mystical powers. Smirk. Smirk.

Psychics always have a problem with their guiding spirit being either a Donald Trump type or a Margaret Thatcher! Well done, Jan! Aloha! Rico
