Prayer Lifted for my Husband

Last night I had a worried thought Come coursing to my mind Of my husband having car trouble And other thoughts unwind The vision of him losing power And a veering of the wheels A fear of course crept quickly with an Icy kind of feel I saw in thought the railroad tracks And a wreck that sent chills up my back So, I prayed for God's protection And that He would keep him safe While the fears then seemed to go away And not leave me tortured chafe When he came from work I told him Of my fear and prayer He told me NOT the thing he thought May give me a dispair About an hour ago or so, he left for just Awhile He with youngest son in tow, returning With a smile "Well, we got the car home." He said mysteriously I hadn't noticed he'd taken my car Or that he had my key Puzzled I then asked him, What are you speaking of? He told me of the issue that He'd kept concealed in love Last night on his way home The mini van lost power The lights were fading from headlamps And the car was running sour This on approaching railroad track The engine died, but then started back Giving trouble the next few miles Then coasted several blocks toward home On prayers, and angel smiles? He took a lefthand turn in coast A few short blocks from home And hit the curb and popped a tire With only a short jaunts hike to roam He came in from the cold last night Just slightly out of breath I told him of my worried thoughts And prayers to God wherewith But I have only learned of this whole Episode today!!! I'm writing this to tell you When you have dark fears pass your way Do not take it lightly friends Lift up your heart and pray!!

Wow BJ. Great! A fav on this brilliant piece! BJ.a special share. My daughter was seven years old. I was crying and worrying about build or something and she said to me don’t you know that God is taking care of us he takes care of the world what’s your problem?. And you know … she is right. Human being to grow universe we can all in God’s hands and.. our job not to make you wrong. It is great when your child tells you something, that would be obvious to you? Hugs, Pangie

Yeah that was quite the night. Sorry I didn't tell you till the next day but I was worried you would have been too upset to sleep. I know God heard you pray. I am ok and the car is fixed and doing good now. It is good to have a praying wife, thank you, and by the way, don't stop.

Premonition, intuition, guardian angel, gut feeling, a miracle or an act of God....whatever it is we need 'to listen' to our thoughts and feelings and act on them. A wonderful , uplifting inspirational write my sweet B.J....so happy it was a positive outcome! Debx

Marvelous, uplifting story. People of faith need to write more of miracles in their lives. It is something non believers, or more important, those on the fence need to hear for spiritual inspiration. Blessings to you and your loved ones.

Thank you, Michael, I am so honored that this is a fave for you! Our Lord is SOOO good! I believe when we are blessed with a nudge of fear we better pray, a call to prayer as the case may be. The day I wrote this poem I felt like I needed to write it then and there, so hopefully it encourages other to pray as well. I hope you are well! I haven't been on here again for quite sometime. Speaking of prayer, we could use some here for healing. I've been battling health issues and just want to get better! I feel bad for my husband, he is so worried and tending to so many of my needs. I guess if I posted about this awesome answer to prayer, I should also ask for prayer when needing it from a brother in Christ, God bless you Michael :)

I too had similar experiences. Sometimes an irrational fear pops up in my mind about my son staying far away from us. Then my mind gets clouded that I can't even pray. Soon I realize that my son has been in trouble. Whenever my dear ones face severe troubles, an uncanny fear creeps into me. I feel this is telepathy. Strange are the workings of human mind. Many things remain a puzzle or a mystery. Many a time, prayer solves the problem. I am sure your prayer saved your husband. Thanks for sharing your story.

Yes, the Lord has equipped our hearts or minds, maybe our spirit with foreboding at times. I know a lot of people say it's women's intuition, whatever it is, we have an open channel to our Creator and can call out to Him <3 My kids have had discussions about this, saying "Listen to mom, she knows stuff...!" Once one of my sons was going out to meet friends, he was very active and a good driver, but I felt uneasy that night and told him I felt he should stay home. He went out anyway, and he wrecked an ATV and almost went over the cliff. He was driving his friends ATV and had to pay for it, over $6,000! He didn't let me know about it for six months though :D

Thank you so much Sam, we have needed the prayers and still do! I have been battling health issues and my sweetheart has been right beside me, prayng, tending to my needs, he is a precious man. I am so grateful to God for letting me feel, know I needed to pray that night. I am so blessed. The Lord has done this over the years for me, through dreams and sometimes visions, but not all the time, or sometimes the prayers of intervention are not answered the way I'd hoped. But this hasn't happened in quite some time, and when it did, wow, I am still so blessed and grateful that our Lord heard and, I believe, sent angels to push the car quite a long way. I am still amazed, in awe. We cannot discount prayer <3

Wow, I see I have been absent again far too long, as usual!! Thank you for your comment, and so sorry to be replying sooo late!! That was a scary night, I had the thoughts unbidden and scared feeling. Once I prayed, I felt peace and didn't even realize he was late :) I am blessed beyond words and just praising God that He got my sweetheart home safely that night, He is Mighty to save :) Wonderful Abba Father!! I imagine angels were pushing that car, seriously uphill so fast after the engine died, and when he turned left, he hit the curb and popped the tire. That really was miraculously quick and makes no sense besides heavenly input into the situation! He also got some exercise walking the rest of the way home ;)

BJ, you never know when something like that comes to mind, and you pray when God will answer your prayer and save that person from some fate that was awaiting them. That is true Sara, and I am a believer in prayer, but some of my prayers, I guess as everyone else has had happen, aren't answered in the way we wish them to be. I do remember having things come to my mind and prayed and other catastrophes were diverted in the past, and sometimes never know the outcome of some prayers as they were for others. This was astounding, and I will really never forget, I hope, this lesson. You are wise, and I hope the Lord brings me to your mind if ever I need prayer. You are a faithful lady of prayer :) <3

Oh me too Paige. I was so shocked after I found out he had actually had to leave the van and walk home, but only after he hit the curb and the tire popped! He said because the power was gone, and it was coasting, he couldn't turn the steering wheel well, the power steering was out too. I guess those angels were really booking it, he coasted a long way! :D Thank you for your visits and comments :) <3

Hello sweet Heidi! Yeah, it was pretty intense, those sudden thoughts and feelings. I am glad we are given the insight to pray, obviously, our Lord is letting us know through His Holy Spirit, or whispering angels, but to lift our concerns and fears to Him and have Him intervene on our behalf, what a wonderful Heavenly Father we have! I remember to pray for you as well. I hope you are having a blessed beginning to 2025 and that the Lord will bless your health and heal the land that was contaminated. Thank you Victor for stopping by and for your friendship and always encouraging comments. I am so glad that our Lord has given us intuition and reminds us to pray. I have certainly been very encouraged to take those scary feelings to our Lord. He is such a loving heavenly Father! I pray a lot, and to have those scary thoughts and terrifying feeling I didn't have any other option, and prayer is obviously powerful, He definitely answered my prayer. I thank God He gives us intuition! I wonder, is intuition the soul hearing from an angel or the Holy Spirit? It must be something like that, but when we hear it or feel it, to know it is to remember to pray. Wow thats just,... so powerful, and your intuition is so strong. I once went through something similar long time ago when i was pregnant, i kept feeling that my twin sister was not ok and my heart kept racing etc and i kept calling her but she did not answer my calls, we were living together then ofcourse and she later got back home, safe but she was car jacked: thankfully she survived! And was ok. Reminded me of that incident: when i read this. Glad your family is ok and prayers are powerful. Sending you light always

There have been times I was troubled and prayed, and who knows what God protected us from, but we can be assured, prayer is powerful. Oh my goodness Tom, me too, I am so glad he's ok. Prayer is so powerful, I think I needed the reminder, maybe that was why this happened, I don't know. I felt that this experience may have been a wakeup call to prayer and its power. I felt I needed to write the poem, as an encouragement for others to pray when such a bad feeling overtakes their hearts. It opened my eyes again to the fact that we can pray for the big things too. God our Father is bigger than the biggest, horrible situations on earth, and boy, we have a lot to pray for in our world. Prayer is obviously more powerful than we can comprehend. That’s marvellous Bj, I believe in the power of prayer, once I was out with a friend on an icy night, her car got stuck on an icy uphill road, neither of us had a phone on us, we were in despair, then an angel appeared from nowhere and said he’d give us a push, he did and we were able to go on our way home, will never forget it…. Thank you, Anna, I'm glad he's ok too! I felt like I needed to write this poem because the experience spoke to me so profoundly. There is power in prayer and sometimes we need to be aware that out feelings may have merit, when we can do nothing but pray maybe that is not the least we can do, it is the most powerful that we can do. I hope we will remember to also pray for the big issues in our view, remembering to pray for California and that they are able to get those dreadful fires under control, and for safety of people, wildlife and homes. So much to pray for in our world I know I don't need to list them all. This experience spoke volumes to me.
