Perhaps It May

My beats bang against its cage Yearn out for yesterday again Drawn to distant dreams Clasp in the clips of swelling pasts Waiting for the voice of yesterday To chime again in cheery chords Perhaps it may… Perhaps it blooms and booms again And baths my heart In the fountain of its fragrance Perhaps I may catch Even its stirring echoes that whisper Perhaps I may catch the shadows that lurk Hopeful that tomorrow’s light Will stir my smile And bring back yesterday’s voice Against the stripped sadness that prances A Hanging heart in hope Wallows in wondering As eerie silence creeps and cripples Wishing to live the yore again Though almost drowned to death It struggles to take another breathe ‘Perhaps it may…’
