Only a Tree

Only A Tree Written: By Tom Wright 1/29/99 Of what significance could be one knurled old tree? Bent and misshapened, from it's search for light, nothing more perhaps, than a reminder to me. Lost among those with beauty standing tall and upright. It's subtle way brings to memory, a time, when I too, from darkness, sought, God's, light. So filled with sin and ugly in, God's, sight. Unknowingly accepting His love, while being unworthy and feeling sorry' yet not feeling right. Until one day, to me, God's, revelation came. To escape my self imposed darkness, with repentant heart, I should call upon his name. So now I hope you see, what one knurled old tree's about. It's message, stand tall in God's, light, not succumbing to darkness, lest I too, once more, be crowded out.
