Golden years in time of summer and autumn; gilt leaves turn into their color artwork. The cool ushers the night's drawing in warm fires. Days smile at withered scarlet blossom wreaths. Dreary days bring them here both together; since children, brothers not in blood, but in bond. They sit warm on a park bench as they indulge in enjoyable recollection of past events. As warm at noble heart as leal in bone. They grace the distant past they have left behind. With their wilds as children they changed the world as adults. They leave their memories for another time they meet. But never mind, you will always find them sitting on the same park bench with joyful noise.

Old buddies in the park; we all get there eventually; let's hope that all of our memories are so great.

Hi Eve, a great poem about the time when we will all reminisce - but all ages do I think. I recall how the convent I attended had a reunion party every 10 years and as borders, we were the waitresses, this particular year. People from 90 downwards mingled and indulged in remembering and reminiscing about their school days and exchanged stories of a lifetime.. A lovely write - well d one Eve. A Blessed Easter to you and yours. Hugs, Jennifer.
