Divino Sonetto
-bridge-
The bell in the church strikes a lively tune at midnight,
And the raven stretches it’s wings to take its flight.
On the edge of the brick bridge, the lonely soul will watch,
As the moon slowly rises above the horizon’s perch.
A dog barks in the distance and a few people walk the streets,
Street lights flicker alive and the early day’s rain glitters.
A couple breaks apart and the loveless man litters,
On this bridge, the ones looking for peace take their seats.
On this bridge, the moon will melt with the lake below,
And the chilly winds will whisper, speak, and blow.
The restless continue to stare at the inky black night.
A man picks up his lighter and the cherry will glow,
But the lonely will keep their heads bowing low.
On this lonely bridge, the crow caws and takes flight.
