Appreciation
"The deepest longing in the human breast is the desire for appreciation." (William James).
God’s favour--- such is appreciation’s best
Indeed my heart’s desire*, making me blest
Earnest midst joy, filled with compassion’s glow
Marked by forgiveness of confessed guilt-pest.
The Lord’s approval conquers every woe
Since it presses me for my faith to grow
Cheering toward triumphant reaching-out
While sharing His love along peaceful flow.
Inspired to pursue ministerial route
With fellowship of appreciation-shout
Keeps me radiating a vibrant face
Vanquishing doubt, and overcoming pout.
With commendation I receive by grace
My soul exclaims thanksgiving in life’s race
Exhorting others to walk in the light
Marked by kindness upon compassion’s brace.
Cherishing victory in prayer-plight
My spirit praises the Saviour so right
For He has lifted me up from pain’s test…
Now, I express appreciation delight.
*Psalms 37:4 - Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
