A Mirror

A MIRROR I breathed into a mirror With breath soft and warm, My finger etched an image That began to take a form. I breathed into a mirror But it wasn't very plain. It disappeared out of sight So I had to breathe again. I breathed into a mirror Etching images to view, None would ever be the same Surprising what breath can do. I breathed into a mirror And quickly wrote "I love you". but these words soon vanished Yet still they remain so true. Copyright © Vivien Wade April 6. 2014

Thanks again for your reply. Good to hear from you. Would like to know how you would treat the last verse differently. I'm still learning. Blessings, Vivien, (Scarlett)

Surprise ending, Scarlett. Me being a cynical person, I would have taken the last verse a different direction. I enjoyed the read:)

Thanks Andrew. I watched a TV program where they were teaching old folk art by etching by breathing into a mirror. Was fascinating. Blessings, Vivien

I really like the repeated line at the start of each stanza and how the last stanza stood out from the last, a bit of an emotional turn. great job!
