A Close Encounter

Last year’s leaf scrawls across the cool grey cement floor
like a brown alien spider on spindly triangular legs
that seemingly hovered screeching an eerie song
as it swirled its crinkled claw-like body to the corner
and like a cornered animal it leaps into the air
as in self-defense then with a zigzag stroll and eerie song
scrawls across the cool grey cement floor to the door
where it zips into the sky disappearing forever

Thanks for all your kind words and I find it strange, how some things that go unnoticed inspire me.
