Exultet -Erotica
Would my fulfillment be
to have you fall upon your knees,
to have you feed on me?
Thus if you fell,
for me to see, the adoration in your eyes
as I do now, to meet your gaze undone
in all the ways,
would I then spurn your kiss?
No, I would stand,
as I do now, incapable of its return,
and incoherent, all my latent power
drawn in to you, and all my weakness
wondrous in submission to your art.
Two lips could not alone take in
the flux of my desire
unless they gave, in their audacious parting,
all that they receive, as they do now.
That part of me,
outside myself,
seeks all its depth in you,
and I still bound, presume to cry,
Lord God, lay your heaven down;
the earth is far too sweet
