Shadow's Peer
How pitiful is the anguished soul
screams of untold force
pricks of hell's arrows
piercing life's thickness
reins of steel cannot contain scenes in the dark
heavily portrayed
spiked with mind whispers
stalking the heart
heaving the spirit like retching mucus
madness threatens to enter the realm of songs of murk
melodious not
the curtain rises - eyes disguise - life's truths
garbed in the costume propriety affords
we lend ourselves to obscurity
content to be seen as we are not
as actions proclaim our presentation
soul weeps through it's own echo
sprinting on earth's bosom
stirrings of hope's promise
willing it's core to soften
