60 Million
A couple of days ago, as I reflected upon
The Supreme Court's Roe Vs. Wade decision,
I was brought to tears and mixed emotions.
There was a mixture of both gratitude and sadness.
Grateful that the end of a very complex era had entered
a new chapter because, in my view, a major correction
was made. That was a cause for rejoicing, but from deep
inside the portals of my heart and soul came a painful cry
of sorrow for 60 million babies who never saw the light of day.
There is much that could be said, but that is not what this is about.
These lines point no fingers of blame nor look for any to praise.
These lines are about the two to three second emotional outburst
of sadness that I felt a few days ago when I was alone. Only God
saw, felt, and recorded what I felt. May we never forget those babies.
