30 Tobys

When days are long and work is hard And life just seems to leave you scarred You wake, you sleep, your purpose lost You chose this path of unknown cost You think you move but go nowhere The road ahead just looks so bare There’s no escape from this decay You get the world you give away But then one day the sun comes out And freedom’s voice begins to shout The cheer of friends and warmth above Reminds you life has so much love A wife, some dogs, and music’s gift A writer’s envy comes on swift Although you’re old, you’re not yet grey So, happy monkey-fighting birthday! 27-Jul-2014
