All the news seems bad and worse Wars and conflicts, people so terse Plane crashes or natural disasters So many gone over to the hereafter Illness, sickness and disease a plenty Pain inflicted, making souls feel empty Darkness pervades and follows me The sadness buries deep, even no one sees So when I see little men being petty I wonder true, why empathy is not at the ready There are greater things of concern to me Like the madness of tyrants not letting peoples free Twenty-seven reasons to die of laughter When I see grown men babble and chatter

Another great one Arthur. I do tend to enjoy the darker themes a little more. The ending was perfect and unexpected.

We only need one reason to live, and it's never been more needed than in the troubling time we live in now. Your last two lines made me laugh out loud. How petty are the ones who babble and chatter about nothing that carries an ounce of importance.

Hi Arthur, Your title alone grabbed my attention. I must say this write was not what I expected. I agree folk can be so petty. "27 Reasons to die" was a great line and title. Excellent job:-) Alexis
