It was the year I became a free spirit no longer a child with needs now a teenager with wants I went everywhere with my ghettoblaster to listen to the hits of the day and the music of the seventies was fabulous Newfound freedom ran through my veins I felt different and there was no going back AP: 3rd place 2025

Great poem Line, I wasn't born at that point but I still remember those carrying ghetto blasters in the 1980s and the sense of identity it clearly brought. Individual identity is a personal yet shared experience. It was exciting to witness at the time.

4,000 years of persecution will do this to you. What I remember most about 1972 is the Olympiada in Munich, Germany -- where the entire Israeli team was slaughtered by Palestinian terrorists trained by German commandos. Grisly.

omg ~ I was a naive 14-year old girl who didn't know better than to look at her own little world. I also remember the Vietnam War was still underway so there are plenty of people with terrible memories of 1972. And I think the Irish were still at it with their religious fighting. Quebec was active with its separatist FLQ. Mankind really is disgusting.
