- Stupid To Waste Tears -

                                Cutting onions without tears
                                     I need diving goggles
                                    Clothespin on the nose
                                  Meters of Kleenex tissues

                                 Stinging tears come quickly
                                   Should drop the mascara
                                       Drops in the flood,
                                    makes black river lines

                                   Suffering for the onion
                                   Kinda crazy, kinda wild
                                   So much useful advice,
                                   without giving you tears

                                     Bread in your mouth
                                    Stick your tongue out
                                  Peel under running water
                                   Sugar between your lips

Nice. I agree with the last guy. Some of these are unknown to me. We rub vinegar on the chopping board; some onions are more intense than others. It also depends on how many onions you have to cut. I prefer fresh onions over powdered onion seasoning. You are suffering for a good cause there. LOL. Congrats again!

Cute poem Anne-Lise! I have not heard some of those remedies. I cut onions all the time, and I don't seem to be so sensitive anymore. When I was young, I cried like crazy. Maybe the cure is to get old? I still sneeze when I chop peppers.

Cute and lovely. It's been ages since I peeled an onion. I know there are solutions. The best one is not to peel them at all. Congrats on your win.

This is a realistic picture of peeling onions. If you slice the onion in two halves and start slicing the rest as desired, the outer layer peels by itself. Take it from a pro. I slice onions every day. A fun poem.

A fun read Anne Lise. I usually let mine sit in a bowl of ice water before cutting them. Either that or buy sweet onions. Great to see you this morning. Good luck!
