Again the glass has turned. Sands of fate carry her feet. The silent woman, maiden flower. Stream of despair. - tried in vain. Tearful marbles. Drifting fog, bottomless abyss, ... no pardon. - she never looked back.

Never looking back, she walked into death. So heart wrenching a poem! Did she plunge herself into the bottomless abyss. Despair can be so haunting. Great image as ever. Love and hugs, dear Anne

Anne-Lise, The poem has a somber tone. The last line is fascinating. Despite the despair, effort without results, tears, obscuration, and depth of the situation, she asks for no pardon and doesn't focus on in all. I guess that's the significance of the title...the punishing life accepted or taken with silence. That speaks a lot about the character of this heroine. How many of us would be able to face these difficulties without complaint? Smiles!!
