The hero of a fairy tale never loses his face The blizzard will subside when the day is over Leaving convulsions, that freeze in the wild veil of abundance An arch of wind instruments of winter, without a glimmer of mercy from above The cold invites not to roam barefoot A tumultuous night, the clock slumbers Dawn bestowed to the glory of heaven Clear and full the radiant sun Emotional associations, happiness does not come by avoiding pain To strict reflection with chaos of the mind Such a glorious shrine ... fascinated by the phenomenon

Whoa!! To roam barefoot in that snow and ice would soon bring frost bit or at least I think it would. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara K

Dear Anne-Lise, “such a glorious shrine”, indeed. Even the harshness of winter is to be accepted and appreciated for its place in Nature and for its awe inspiring beauty. Your vivid poetic artistry shines in the snowy season. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

The cold invites not to roam barefoot…I ran (once!!) barefoot into the snow. That was crazy! I should not have run from the bird flying off the deck…a knee jerk reaction… happiness does not come by avoiding pain (perhaps quite contrarily we find our happiness in the pain, finding the contentment after we’ve experienced heartbreak, grief, etc..) Hugs, sweet poet!

- If your feet are freezing... walk barefoot in the snow... you'll be warm once you've dried them :) - I do it often :) - hugs

Anne-Lise, I'm thinking that we have to get up early to see the beautiful sunrise. At least that takes some effort...especially if we go outside to take it all in. Smiles.

Anne-Lise You wrote an excellent poem that examines the interaction of adversity and beauty, implying that ultimate pleasure comes from accepting pain and turmoil rather than resisting it. It compares the romanticized concept of a fairy tale hero with the harsh reality of life, illustrating that growth and emotional depth are frequently the result of suffering.
