This is such a gorgeous haiku, I love your delicate wordplay, with a very deep message.. "Squirrel with fortune" Love that! "Store mocha brown hazelnuts" So beautiful.. "Surviving biting cold" Ahh, stunning description. How even the tiny creatures, prepare themselves for the difficult times.. Such an uplifting one!

Squirrels are not stupid; they do not go by the motto "Carpe Diem"; they know that it is important to plan for the future! Probably, neither the squirrels nor Anne-Lise are looking forward to a cold winter! Regards & Hugs my friend // paul

Anne-Lise, your picture just made me smile and so reminded me of our squirrels that are full of mischief. Your haiku stands out in bright color and tells the story of survival for all animals in "biting cold." So well told. Blessings and hugs for the rest of your summer!
