2nd place in the contest

My dusty box of memories can be compared to Aladdins wonderful lamp Yellow brass with a shiny and elegant appearance Everyone has a genie that resides in the subconscious When the lid is opened it smells of jasmine and rose petals feminine and unique Feeds my heart with the scent she loved It did not belong to a royal person but my dear mother She was a woman who spent time finding the right outfit with different bijouterie A wide range of jewelry, bracelets, earrings, necklaces and rings As an aged photo album - I let the jewelry run through my fingers as a rosary Dear memories flow

Love this one as thinking of my moms and how we had to go through all her pieces. She gave me some before she passed. She was a lady who always dressed nice and had matching pieces with her clothes. Sure miss her a lot. love phyl

Anne-Lise, a very interesting and unusual description of memory and what we hold in our subconscious. I do think we get a lot of information that is inside of us from our relationship with our parents and caregivers when we are young. Nice that you can describe it with love and kindness. Smiles!!

This casket (?) looks so elegant and royal. I imagine an elderly lady opening the box from time to time to pick up various items of jewelry to adorn her. Now it is left behind as a heirloom for her children to remember her and recall nostalgic moments. Beautifully written Anne. Love and hugs

"Everyone has a genie that resides in the subconscious" -- Love that! "Feeds my heart with the scent she loved" -- Hey, some of us guys like that too, unashamedly:) Especially poets. "She was a woman who spent time finding the right outfit" -- it's Called~ Class! -- just like her wonderful daughter, blessing Soup with her perfectly eloquent poetry. Marvelous read. Thank you.

- Always jewelry... real or fake... she loved them... always nice hair, long red nails and high heels... - Completely opposite from me... flat shoes, hair is fine, hates long nails... rare jewelry... can wear sweatpants all day :) - Thanks for your comment, Kim :) - hugs
