Unrequited Love

The palpitations of my heart
have gone wild
I am consumed
with the thoughts of you my beloved...

I am imprisoned
wash away my sin
for nothing removes the taste of you
my unrequited love...

Perhaps we should act
the part of lovers
even through rose colored glasses
chasing an elusive dream...

Is there a difference
between love and obsession?
am I consumed with your skin
is this love?

Is this the beginning of our forever?
for I burn inside for you
for to keep it quiet
would be the greatest punishment..

If our love
is an unrequited love
even then
it is a colorful rainbow...

It is easier sometimes to imagine that love is real instead of knowing the painful truth. I have done this before, but the outcome still hurt... I hope you catch that elusive dream and can hold it tight. Beautifully expressed, Ken!
