The Spring Clearing

Springtime on the ranch is just round the bend
You’ll get your nose cleared, we have cows and pigs
The thaw brings forth chores, that smell and offend
Rubber boots and gloves are now our new digs

As the snow melts, we are left with a moat
Springtime is here with its bag full of tricks
It’s sour and slick, so just clear your throat
The thistles now grow so watch out for pricks

The air never smells like sugar and spice
Out in the birch, there grows fly agaric
It deters the skunk, encrusted with lice
This mushroom will make, all feel lethargic

A blend of toadstool and garlic I’m told
Will stop puffy butt from reaching our fold

Damn Skunks, trying to encroach on your nice clean farm Sheriff, but I see you’ve laid a few traps, garlic, toadstool, and fly agaric sounds nasty, or you could just unpack your blunderbuss and take ‘em all out with one blast, good fun read and well penned too, cheers David

Gutter snipes, skunks, and other smelly things need to be 'defumed.' They douse themselves in smelly odors that they call 'sweet perfume.' Forgive the rhyme, but you get the idea. Good work, Mark.

What a stinker! You could just as well have titled this 'The Spring Cleaning,' since it rids you of unwanted pests. Kind of like throwing moth balls around to keep snakes away. Good job, Mark. Gotta get me some boots and gloves.

No problem on boots and gloves, the Milton creek ranch has an endless supply to deal with our smelly problems. Milt left us a huge grant just for this purpose! Thanks!!
