One Autumn Day

As the wind ripped the leaves from the trees
I thought of you
As I stood there like those trees
Stripped of all their glory
Their only crime
Giving birth to beauty

I watched them fall
All those brilliant leaves
And knew you could never stop
Poetry in motion.

This is beautiful, Lainie. Giving birth to beauty could ask for sacrifice of other things, but as in a cycle there also exists a rebirth to compensate....like those trees that will soon return to their former glory. Reminds me of a mother that gives birth to her child.....// paul
