Listening To the Hush

I sit here
grounded on the banks
a steady stream
of emotions
purl over mind's thoughts
as i skip stones
on the river below
listening to the echoes
as it babbles on

i've traveled
the same long
winding path
i watch it take
as it fades
into the fog

i close my eyes
listening to the hush
of another somber day
carried on the zephyr
of spring's rain

i see you
momentarily
reaching out
beyond shadows
before they fall

i sit here
grounded
on the banks
of time

awaiting
.... alone

Having been brought up into the arms of nature , I love all its sounds and its phenomena. They make you feel alive plus they make you feel an undivided part of it. Marvelous poem dearest, Sandra. Loved it. Hugs xoxo

Glad to see you find comfort in sound of nature: listening to the echoes as it babbles on--so well said, Sandy. Emotions always lurk in the background as you so well illustrated my friend.

Very somber feeling reading this poem ... just you and nature ... but not that peaceful kind of solitude ... rather an emptiness when one revisits familiar things, but you, yourself, have changed. I think the isolation is getting to everyone ... stay safe, Sandra.
