Happy Women's Day

A woman is more
than solely a woman,
She's nobody's
but her own,
She embraces
 truth in life
with compassion
 in her soul.

A woman is more
than solely a woman,
There's ambition
on her mind,
There is wisdom
 in her words
And foundations
 to be kind.

A woman is more
 than solely a woman,
There is beauty
in her eyes,
And that beauty
reflects journeys
Travelled through
her inner light.

A woman is more
 than solely a woman,
There's a sweetness
 in her smile.
There's the instinct
 of a mother to protect
each little child.

A woman is more
than solely a woman,
She is humble,
She'sincere.
She's a friend,
she's a great listener,
Seeks adventure
without fear.

A woman is more
 than solely a woman,
She thinks firstly
 with her heart,
She gives strength
 yet seeks protection,
She needs safe
 comforting arms.

A woman is more
than solely a woman,
Her secrets
 held unseen,
Like whispers
 in the quiet night,
Waiting for
 a curious dream.

A woman is more
 than solely a woman,
Sensual, elegant
and graceful like
 a vintage wine glass,
She's a timeless
 vineyard of passion,
A treasure born to last.

A woman is more
than solely a woman,
She shakes stardust
 from the blues.
She's the lips
 of silent voices,
She's a Hepburn,
She's a Lucille Ball wearing
Mary Poppins' shoes.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Charmaine, a lovely tribute. As a man, I'm thinking how lucky I am to be in a society where women represent all these positive attributes. I think men can learn a lot from women, and we should respect and honor what you've detailed here. Hopefully, opportunity and equality will only get better and better for all. Your have me smiling!

Cute poem of female empowerment. I especially like that last line. Women shouldn't need a special day but sadly, in some cultures they aren't treated very well
