Andrea's Half Past Summer, Two Months Till Fall Contest

July 18, 2025

Length of days begins to wane, twilight quickens and moonlight obeys the seasonal call of nature. The time is half past summer, two months till fall and the warm splayed fingers of sunlight's heat are reaching for the zenith of their time to reign. Soon, night will darken earlier; stars appear brighter, and autumn's crisping days will wither crimson leaves fluttering in swan song dances, swirling on the ground.

Thanks, Chick. I feel such a sense of regret when leaves begin to fall, but nature holds the reins on the horseback of seasons.

It was so easy to get out of bed in the morning one month ago. Hibernation is close by. I enjoyed reading your introduction to Fall.

Dear Lin, a gorgeous meditation on the shift from summer to fall. So fleeting, bittersweet beauty, so perfectly bent with the moonlight “obeying” nature’s call, sunlight stretching for its zenith, nights creeping in. I can almost feel the air growing crisper and the world preparing to change coats. You leave me both nostalgic and present, grateful for the warmth now and curious for the color to come. Autumn is my favorite! Summer Blessings, My Dear Lin, Daniel

The years are so fleeting Lin, seasons even more so, I cannot believe it’s already half past summer, A beautifully crafted piece here, with tons of natural imagery, I’m sure will be rewarded in Andrea’s contest, cheers David
