Lovely and moody piece—feels like walking alone with memories clinging to your shoulders, just like that lamp’s light. “Honey-dew words” and “bitter tears” hit deep. Quietly powerful.

Yes...I have one like this...part of me died with her. Never did entirely recover. Poets are just that way...what enables us to write beautiful things also heightens sense of tragedy. Comes with the territory. Poe and his Lenore. Etc.. Best of luck with contest.
