Between the Rain Drops
The city is awash with water
Rainclouds above are
pouring down rain
on the urban dwellers
Between the drops there is humid air
Pools of water form
near the city sidewalks
Cars pass by with
windshield wipers
beating out rythms
Between the rain drops
The heart of the city
is beating
Thousands make their way
through the downpour
Undeterred they make their way
to their jobs and back again
Between the raindrops
A splash of hope be found
Hope guides us
through inclement weather
in this magnificent city
Between the raindrops
Urban love persists
Lovers meeet and embrace
in this city which is so diverse
It strengthens the soul
