That Beautiful Sweet Embrace

Healing is embracing what is most feared; healing is opening what has been closed, softening what has hardened into obstruction, healing is learning to trust life. — Jeanne Achterberg

We wandered lonely along the cowslip-lined lane.
The sky was overcast, though I hoped it would not rain.

Still, though apart, we walked and talked about life.
Our thoughts were heavy, for we understood all about strife.

Occasionally, we glanced at each other and smiled,
Each felt a sensation of wonder and delight, so beguiled.

Rain began to fall, and we dashed to a nearby shed, a cosy place.
Thunder boomed. We found ourselves in a stunning, sweet embrace.

Life is routine and mundane yet side by side along the cowslip lane with rain in the forecast, solace is found in a cosy embrace! When I call my dad, sometimes we find nothing much to talk about, yet being connected, hearing one another’s voice, and that no news is still good. Hugs, dear one!

A casual walk and talk... there wasn't anything special about it. But Nature arranged everything. When rain and thunder came, both of you had to seek shelter in a shed and there something special happened.... bodies came close and hearts- closer!

I have read this 3 times and like the poem more and more, it leaves one (this one) with a certain melancholy-love feel that tugs. I also like that shed more and more, as well as its setting. Stay well ... CayCay
