Ophidiophobia

Ophid air of misconception Polarizing those of superstition Hideous to some and Indescribably beautiful to many Devoid of human soul Involved in man’s downfall Only to be cursed as Pretense of innocence Holding unfounded fear Of snakes who serve Behind our sight with Intense appearance and Always omnipresent

Dear Linda, your amazing imagery captures the dual perceptions of snakes (fears and beauty) in such a profound and poetic way. A deep, meaningful, thoughtful piece highlighting superstitions and negative emotions regarding our human reactions to snakes. I feel they are misunderstood animals that have gotten a bad rap. Your acrostic is awesome! Warmest wishes, my inspiring poet friend.. ~Susan

You are kind, dear Susan, to share such insight through reading my poem. I love all creatures. I do, however, have healthy respect for many of them. Lest we judge too harshly, there is beauty all around. Thank you Susan! :)
