Man Is Like The Grains Of Sand

Man is like the grains of sand,
in the hourglass of eternity.
Reincarnating with every turn of the glass,
continually changing while staying the same.

The same eternal energy,
moving from one location
in the eternal continuum.

It changes its appearance
by its intent and its purpose
 through its intelligence.

Yep, and with under developed lungs, it was hard to breathe even after my first spanking. (Spent my first six weeks at the hospital in an iron lung. That what they called the device that breathed for me my first six weeks. I was born after 8 months instead of waiting until I was fully developed at 9 months. ( I was in a big hurry to get my life going). Thanks for the visit, Joe. Have a great week, Bill

A thought provoking work you have penned in this one. I wonder how long would it take for all those grains of sands to become only dust or would they ever do that. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara K

I've never thought of that Sara, good comment, my friend. I don't know the answer, but I imagine it would happen. Once around this earthly experience is enough for me unless God's got other plans for me. :-) Have a pleasant week, my friend. Bill

Dear Bill, you have encouraged me to consider how each of us, through our choices and intentions, shapes the unique pattern we leave behind in the sands of time. Such thoughtful and evocative poetry for it offers comfort and a sense of connection to something much larger than ourselves. Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

Good, deep and a worthy read. All my studies, and they are a plenty, landed me on the belief reincarnation is real. I accepted such w/o fear but now that AI is here, I DON'T WANT TO COME BACK AGAIN!! I'm sure I'll get counselling once I go home. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

The whole AI taking over thing can be threatening and cause the need for counseling for many. Thanks for the visits and comments while I've been away. Once around may be my choice also, my friend. Take care, Bill

Greetings Bill. I like this thoughtful, perceptive poem about the constant growth and changes we live beneath God's guiding hand. Have read it several times and each time I see something new. I think that is what good poetry does, my Lone Star friend. Have a good and blessed week!

It’s a simple, reflective take on life’s endless cycle, using an hourglass as the main image.
