It's Always the Drummer

He beats on the drum
The vibrations thrill
It makes me succumb
He goes for the kill

He sways as he plays
and beat after beat
puts me in a daze
He brings on the heat

My body's in time
to his every move
We are so in sync
This is a great groove

My eyes are transfixed
to him in the band
Drumsticks are flying
in capable hands

His eyes are shut tight
Lips? Slightly parted
Oh, how will he know...
what he has started?

Thumping and thrashing
his instrument quakes
Just like my body~~~
that quivers~~and~~shakes

I squirm in my seat,
wipe sweat from my brow
I get up and dance...
the moment is NOW!!!

Oh glory, oh me!
He opens his eyes
They fixate on me
can't hide his surprise

My fire consumes
Drum beat entrances
I want him so bad!
What are my chances?

His eyes fix on me
That look takes me in
I'm know what it means
Tonight is a win!

The beat, it dies down
He talks to the band
Comes down from the stage
takes me by the hand

He pulls me to him,
both dripping in sweat
We go on back stage
Make music? You BET!

Wow. What a sexy poem. I too get off on the "beat'. I dance to the drum beat even though I prefer sound of guitar

Playing drums can bring a sort of irresistible feeling of love. Great rhythm.

Oh wow...this poem is delivered in irresistible rhythmic beat to which one can so easily succumb, Eileen! I love the buildup...and the backstage innuendo. [had a drum set at home, but drove everyone crazy!] Hugs // paul

Yes. Thanks for thr affirmation. I'm glad the beat was irresistible. One can always imagine. You should have kept at the drums. It could have been you in the poem.

Better rethink it, then. I follow an amazing drummer on Instagram. Check him out. His name is....Emily Vergazov.

Sounds like you had a night to remember Eileen. Hope you have a lovely weekend with or without the drummer. Tom

Fictional write, of course. I shared it with a student who was a drummer. I thought I had posted it here years ago, but apparently not. I'm glad he'd kept a copy. Thanks for passing by.

So, for you it's always the drummer. For me, it was always the lead guitarist, and more points if he was the singer. Fantasies! So, I married a piano player. ;-)

Vocalists and guitarists are great too. For me...my eyes always gravitate to the drummer in the band. The beat... the beat gives life. Great that you married a piano player. All the best!
