Far out on the bay,
cloud and water mix
in a weighted sadness
way past the reach
of where my words can go
and yet finds reflection
in your eyes the same
as that which often carries
a sorrow to tint the light
of a setting sun.

It is the look that comes upon
a soul ensconced
within the walls
of its familiar abode, forever
compelled towards a window
to cast a longing gaze
into a distant nowhere
as if there
was its home.

This is melancholy and makes me think of watching the sun fade, and thinking how it mirrors life... sometimes.
