I read Iamanaya's box (sounds dirty). You sound like my AI sad twin. I felt this way in the 80s about cloning, when world said okay, yay, baby's w/o souls. I cried. The thought of people turning to AI rather than God is really painful. I have cried about AI in my sleep almost all week. Want you to know, after that contest, I got curious & checked 1 of my poems, it came back majority AI, did 3 poems & 3 times they determined AI. What to trust for accurate test?

Anne, it's the sponsor's responsibility, they either don't check, don't care, or are partial to poet pals or on one side. The contest "The Prismatic Self" requires to answer that question, How do you feel about winning or losing a contest? ..it's overdue to be judged as well... (contest) dead line was on the first lol. On the other hand, some sponsors allow 30% ai and this is because of quotes used and such, and words like music have known to be repeated without even knowing so~ Xhugs

I'm glad it's still posted and that you've received comments from some well-established and respected poets. Its bad enough to post AI and take credit for it, but to enter contests using that system is cheating and it's deplorable.

Anne-Lise, so true! Why anyone would want to submit an AI generated poem is beyond me. The people doing that must be pretty desperate for external recognition. We wish they would look deeply within and come up with something from the heart, not from a CPU. Smiles!!

Hi Anne-Lise. AI should never be allowed on this sight. It matters not the skill level of each of us poets we know that what is written comes from the heart and the soul and that is true poetry. I did not know this was being done -- maybe why I have been loosing interest in many of the reads. Something to consider. Perhaps AI does not ring true to the heart, necessary for poetry. If this is going on, Soup should not allow the perpetrators to post. Ultimately it will do great harm to poetry.

Yes, winning only because you are friends with the person who is offering the contest, or some other reason is not fair to the whole group of people who love to come on here. Sometimes I seek AI's assistance when I hit a dry spell as I do sometimes and I also look up famous poems on the internet or a topic or items to help me get an idea or a vision or something to help me get out of writer's block.
