Hiya,

I joined Poetry Soup on 23rd May this year, after being introduced to the site by my dear friend Nikko (thank you Nikko .) I can't believe I've only been here for about 6 weeks, it feels like home already & I spend far too many hours here.

Over the last week or so though, I felt something was missing (apart from a couple of my contest entries that is ). It certainly wasn't the friendship, that's here in abundance. I'd been getting lots of great comments on my poetry, even placing well in several contests. What could be missing???

I decided it must be that yellow star by the side of my name, that's it!! Back in  primary school I always wanted that gold star, lol, I obviously haven't changed. So here I am, a premium member, and just waiting for my star to appear. I never had to pay for that star in primary school, but I'm happy in the knowledge that I'll now be supporting my favourite website.

Thanks to all who have made me very welcome here, and taken the time to leave such kind comments on my poetry. I'm afraid you're all stuck with me now for at least a year .

It's great to be part of such a lively and friendly bunch of writers

yeah because I remember it took some convincing for us to see your pic ;) and no fair, you're too mean to yourself, sweetie ;P! I keep trying to convince Ninna to join here too but no dice yet--haha she doesn't want to get addicted as I am, lol! ohh She must look so cute in that uniform of hers--I bet she's so excited to be in nursery! and super thanks--you & p.d. are both wonderful friends and I feel really lucky to be a part of your lives in some way ^_^ it's amazing how we get to meet such great friends! thanks for being so sweet you two ^_^

Hey Nikko ^_^ I knew you'd be shocked that I posted a photo, lol, I'm pretty shocked myself. I don't think it will stay here for long though, it scares me everytime I come here to write a reply. Thanks for your very kind words. Ella's doing just great thanks. She's all kitted out with her uniform ready for nursery school in September. ^_^ Super smiles right now Sharon!! ^_^ This is the nicest surprise, seeing you are a Premium Member!! and you posted a pic too!! That made me seeing this blog even more special! I was short of being floored actually ;) I am soo happy that I told you about this site--it's definitely gained a very talented and eloquent poetess and lovely friend-- I just knew they'd welcome you here with open arms and just LOVE your writings--your beauty definitely shines through your writes and I'm just super glad you found a home here as well ^_^ --major hugs!! --nikko :)

Sharon, reading your bio, I see why I relate to you. I too have always had writing in my blood, but it takes a maturity to see it come tumbling out for some of us. I think I already told you, 44 was the age of magic for me, when I started in earnest with poetry. Thanks so much for putting a face to your name for me. I am so happy to have met such an especially talented writer here at Soup. Your way of talking about the little gold star was so cute, and I remember that Nikko told me about you, but I did NOT know that she had known you before you came here. Thanks Constance, I think I've been unlucky just happened to have posted a few things as the server has gone down or something. Are you sure this star doesn't give me superpower immunity against that? ;). Thank you Carrie, I still can't believe we never spotted those last two sneaky letters. What a wonderful addition to our soup family you are!! Welcome now, as a Premium member too!! So nice to know you even better, and of course, we knew right away upon joining what an amazing poet you are, and I personally thank you for your efforts in trying to save a few of my own fiascos...haha especially the ume contest!!!
