Wedding Day Wedding Poems and Vows

The Three Roses
When the buds began to burst, Long ago, with Rose the First I was walking; joyous then Far above all other men, Till before us up there stood Britonferry's oaken wood, Whispering, "Happy as thou art, Happiness and thou must part.
" Many summers have gone by Since a Second Rose and I (Rose from the same stem) have told This and other tales of old.
She upon her wedding day Carried home my tenderest lay: From her lap I now have heard Gleeful, chirping, Rose the Third.
Not for her this hand of mine Rhyme with nuptial wreath shall twine; Cold and torpid it must lie, Mute the tongue, and closed the eye.
by Walter Savage Landor

THE WEDDING
A FEAST was in a village spread,-- It was a wedding-day, they said.
The parlour of the inn I found, And saw the couples whirling round, Each lass attended by her lad, And all seem'd loving, blithe, and glad; But on my asking for the bride, A fellow with a stare, replied: "'Tis not the place that point to raise! We're only dancing in her honour; We now have danced three nights and days, And not bestowed one thought upon her.
" * * * * Whoe'er in life employs his eyes Such cases oft will recognise.

Our Wedding Day
Though we have no expectations we're committed to our love as we stand upon life's altar before the Lord above Oh blend us Lord together 'neath the heavens and the sun each heart unto the other 'til we become as one And in thy mighty power Lord set angels 'round about to seal our love forever and to keep the world without Then across the mighty heavens write for all the world to see all you have placed within our hearts a love that comes from thee

My Wedding Day
When I meet you Will you make us two I promise always to be true Ever faithful, through and through Walk hand in hand when troubles anew Down wrong paths, your goals to pursue The bond we have, will always accrue Aisle parade for our wedded debut

The Key To the Heart
It's something meant to cherish, And is guarded, Oh, so well. The contents one will find inside Reflect this foreign cell. On its door contains a lock Made entirely of solid gold. Only one is able to open it And find treasures unforetold. Some hold tightly to its value And they keep it close to heart, While others may give it freely Right off from the very start. The thought to hold onto to Guide you through each day, Is to wait for that treasure Of equal value, to exchange On one's wedding day.

My Daughters Wedding Day
December twentieth two thousand and three, A day to remember in my memory. The day that my daughter, the light of my life, Will walk down the aisle, to become someone’s wife. And I shall be proud as I walk by her side, The father of such a beautiful bride. The groom will be waiting, best man by his side, And lips will be bitten, eyes trying not to cry. Vows they will both make “I do “ both will say, On this, my daughters wedding day. Proud we’ll both stand, her mother and me, And remember the time that they were we.

Thoughts of the Break
I didn't want to do it, I hate to hear you cry, It's just so hard to deal with When our parents run our lives. We were treated like puppets, And I did what I had to do. Now I'm feeling down and out, And I'm not sure what to do. We want a great life together, And I want to be your wife. This break isn't permanent, I promise you it's not I love you more than anything, And I want to be yours forever. So please believe me when I say: "I do!" on our wedding day.
